October 30, 2014 – The Mahmoud Kahil Book and Awards Program Launch
The Mahmoud Kahil Foundation, in conjunction with the Mu’taz and Rada Sawwaf Arabic Comics Initiative at AUB, celebrated the book launch of the latest publication about renowned editorial cartoonist Mahmoud Kahil’s life and work, “According to Kahil” at the Villa Audi. The event also displayed original works by the artist.
The founders of the MK foundation, Nazmi Kahil and Dana Kahil Trometer, the president of the American University of Beirut Dr. Peter Dorman and the Director of the Initiative Lina Ghaibeh, were present at the event and offered words on the importance of Kahil’s work and the medium with which he transcribed issues of the politics, social injustices and humanitarian aid in the Middle East Region.
In addition to the launch of the book, this event also launched the Mahmoud Kahil Award program and announced the Mu’taz and Rada Sawwaf Arabic Comics Initiative!
